Short version

Spelling Bee Word Generator collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind, in the app or on this website's core functionality. Solving happens entirely on your device, using a word list bundled with the app. Your usage statistics — puzzles solved, longest word found, and similar counters — are stored only in the app's local storage on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.

The one network request the app makes

When you tap a word in your results to see its definition, the app first looks it up using Apple's built-in dictionary, entirely on your device — no network involved. Only if Apple's dictionary has no entry for that word, and your device is online, the app sends that single word — and nothing else — to a third-party dictionary service, api.dictionaryapi.dev, to try to find a definition. No name, account identifier, device identifier, or usage history accompanies that request — just the word itself, the same as any web request carries your IP address in transit. If you never tap a word for a definition, or Apple's dictionary already has it, or you're offline, this request is never made.

No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs

The app contains no advertising network, no analytics framework, and no crash-reporting service that phones home. It does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or any other device permission, because it doesn't need any of them to work.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone at all.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes any of the behavior described above — for example, if a new feature ever needed to send more than a single word to a dictionary lookup — this page will be updated to say so before that version ships.
